The Girl..
Once you’ve seen The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, you will be absolutely hooked to this series of movies, which were best selling books by Stieg Larsson published posthumously. The first movie was my favourite, went into it not expecting much and was absolutely blown away. As much as I love Cinema Nouveau movies, many of them are very simple, made on a small budget, labours of love and to...

A Torturous Hike.
A week or so ago I got an sms from my friend Mont, asking if I wanted to do a 5 hour hike from Hout Bay to Sandy Bay with her. Fuck Politics! Lets Shimmy - is the name of my band. This is the essential rockumentry behind Cape Town’s first underground super group - Fuck Politics! Lets Shimmy. An insighful look at the creation of the band, it’s members, as well as the inspiration behind their many reinventions via wanting to be like Madonna. Nicky Damata on vocals + backing vocals. Callen Byrnes on keys....

When You're Strange.
When You’re Strange is an absolutely must see, it’s currently on at Labia Kloof at 8:15 every night - and for R25 you get a ticket + popcorn + a soda! It’s a documentary about The Doors narrated by Johnny Depp, directed and written by Tom DiCillio. The name comes from the lyrics of their song People Are Strange. It follows the formation of the band, their creative process, the...
