Live from Vida e Caffe Kloof.

Vida had my mucho cappuccino & my Moleskine but absolutely no inspiration, so I drew this which was on the table. Added a bit of watercolours after.

After a Vida cappuccino with Jade, we took a leisurely stroll down Kloof Street checking out the usual shops. Then to my dismay I saw a huge sign “Closing Down Sale” at Zoom one of my favourite furniture shops in Cape Town. It’s full of amazing 60’s retro chairs in amazing conditions (with prices to match..) Asked the guy if I could take  a few photographs before it closes down. Turns out they are just moving the whole store upstairs and a new clothing store is opening in the space..

I kinda have this retro-fridge-fetish. Have you been affected by it too? Do you stay up all night dreaming about one day owning your own Champagne Beige SMEG fridge, or even finding an old one that doesn’t work and lovingly restoring it and using it as a bookcase? I do. These magnets would look too amaze on it..

Had this taken away Origin Flat White from Osumo, who describe Origin as the best coffee in Cape Town. It’s all so confusing seeing as they were at one stage 50% owned by Vida.

Another thing I do not get is that this cost me R15, and yet if I go to the source in De Waterkant it costs R22 which is a complete rip-off, especially as you can get the same thing for R7 less, and it was actually really good. Excellent foam Osumo Girls!
